Week six will feature some old favorites and some new adventures for LSC! All Pioneers, Ramblers, and Crusaders: please remember to wear your camp shirt on Wednesday. They will be distributed tomorrow if your campers has not already received one this summer! Please be on the look out for the bright orange shirt.

Pioneers – Grades K & 1

The Museum’s exhibits and programs emphasize hands-on engagement and learning through experience, employing play as a tool to spark the inherent creativity, curiosity, and imagination of children.  Designed for children, Museum exhibits focus on science, culture, environmental awareness, health & fitness, and the arts. In addition to extensive child-centered exhibits, Museum educators develop numerous programs and activities that address literacy, performing arts, science and math, visual arts, cultures, and health and wellness. Please keep in the mind the following for this trip:

  • Please pack your child a disposable lunch.
  • Campers should wear sneakers.

Ramblers – Grades 2 & 3

On this trip campers will travel to Coco Key indoor water park. They will spend the day splashing in wave pools, sliding down slides, floating in rivers, and rushing through obstacle courses. Learn more at http://www.cocokeyboston.com/

 

Please keep the following in mind:

  • Campers need to pack a bathing suit and towel
  • Campers need to pack a disposable lunch and water bottle

Crusaders – Grades 4 & 5

For this trip campers will travel to Canobie Lake Park in Salem, New Hampshire, New England’s premier family amusement park with over 85 rides, games, live shows and attractions. They will spend their day flying down rides, like Boston Tea Party, Untamed, and Starblaster and splashing around in Castaway Island. For this trip please keep the following in mind:

  • Please pack a disposable lunch
  • No extra money is required but if your camper would like to play games or purchase snacks you may send it.
  • We will arrive back at camp at 4:00 pm for pick up.

Trailblazers – Grades 6,7, & 8 

brownstone-logo-4Tuesday, August 8th – On this trip campers will travel to Brownstone park in Portland, CT for a day of unforgettable adventures. Built in an old quarry, Brownstone offers a host of exciting adventures. They have 14 ziplines that land in the water, giant water slides, rock climbing, rope swings into the water, cliff jumping, snorkeling, and giant water inflatables. Camp Overnight- When campers return to camp the fun is just beginning. They will learn how to pitch their own tents, start their own fires, before having a bbq dinner, an American Ninja Warrior Competition, Flashlight Tag across the campus, and of course S’mores and stories by the campfire.

Please keep in mind the following for this trip:

  • Campers need a Signed Waiver
  • You should have received a packing list and itinerary via email and will receive hard copies on Monday
  • Your camper needs a disposable lunch for Tuesday.

kommunikatör-sociala-medier-boda-borg-oxelosund.pngWednesday, August 9th–On this trip campers will be transported into a real-world gaming environment; an experience what they call Questing. Teams of 3-5 campers literally move through the Quests tackling a variety of mental and physical challenges. Success in the first challenge means entry into the next challenge and so on… Failure in any challenge means starting over or selecting another Quest. Boda Borg is Reality Gaming; that means real people, trying to physically survive there life-like Quests: no video games, no special equipment, no virtual reality…just eager Questers…just like real life. Please keep in the mind the following for this trip:

  • If your camper is going on this trip click here to fill out a waiver. It must be completed online before we go.
  • We are having a Taco Bar Lunch – complete with beef, chicken, Tofu, veggies, beans, cheese etc. If your child has an allergy you may pack your own lunch.
  • Pick Up will be at normal dismissal time: 3:00pm  
  • Closed toed shoes must be worn on this trip.


treeThursday, August 10th –
Tree Top Adventures is an aerial forest high ropes course consisting of more than 130 platforms installed in the trees and connected by various configurations of cable, wood, and rope to form bridges and zip lines. Groups of bridges link together to form separate trails. Although every trail has zip lines on them, you will need to climb to get to them. There is much more fun than just zip lining to be had! There are 10 trails in total  and each trail has varying difficulty level ranging from beginner to expert. The experience is safe, fun and most importantly exciting!

Please keep in mind the following for this trip:

  • Closed toed shoes (sneakers) must be worn
  • If your camper is going on this trip click here to fill out a waiver. It must be completed online before we go.
  • Please send your camper with a disposable lunch.
  • Pick Up will be at normal dismissal time 3:00pm
