Each week at Lincoln Summer Camp we have a theme that permeates all our activities and events. This year we will have the following themes:
Dress Up Days
For each theme we have a dress up day and costume contest that have everyone wearing silly costumes.
Everyday at camp a Epic Adventures are planned that incorporate the theme. Campers get together with other campers in their age groups for an hour of uninterrupted fun! Each week we offer events in the following categories:
Water events have our campers getting wet and wacky. Water balloon fights and water blaster battles are favorite special events in this category. Giant water slides and Jumbo Slip and Slide are also favorites.
Each week campers have the chance to storm the stage as we gather together as a camp community for Lincoln Live! Lincoln Live is LSC’s weekly variety show. In this raucous environment we cheer, sing, dance, and even have trivia competitions. Campers and counselors alike enjoy performing for the camp in act they’ve devised on their own. In 2021 we will be making these performances digital!
When it’s time for amusements at camp, you can feel the excitement in the air. What could be more fun than getting a chance to dunk your counselor in the dunk tank? Maybe riding down a giant, inflatable water slide or jumping around with friends in a bounce house. Each week will offer something new for the delight of campers.
Annual Camp Events
For one special week each summer Color Wars come to camp. Throughout the week, campers compete in competitions where they are broken up in four color teams: the Red Team, Blue Team, Orange Team, and the Green Team. On Monday, campers meet with their captains and counselors for the first time. They get colored bandanas to show their team pride and learn color-themed chants and cheers to show their spirit. Then the games begin, from sports to trivia, to dances and cheers, points can be earned all week for your color team. The week culminates with a series of final whole team competitions. Campers compete in a series of relay races and then the final challenge: tug-o-war.
An annual tradition at Lincoln Summer Camp the camp show has campers and counselors working hard all week to create and practice whole groups skits and dance routines. On Friday they all gather in our theater to perform and show off their creative ideas. The staff even gets in on the act! Check out some videos of past performances below. Note that the camp show will occur digitally this year, with groups and acts creating videos of their routines!
